Landing Gear Lever

Landing Gear Lever

This landing gear lever was designed in SolidWorks to be 3D printed and integrated into my home cockpit. The idea is for the gear to be "locked" in the up or down position so that it cannot be accidentally set off. This design was inspired by real-life General Aviation Landing gear. Both the axle and the rod are supposed to be made of conductive metal and connective via a spring. The spring applies tension and helps the lever stay in either of the two detents. In one of the detents, a copper plate with a wire is glued inside. When the lever is in that position, the conductive rod connects a circuit between the copper plate and the axle which sends a signal to the computer. This is then read by SimVim which raises or lowers the gear in X-Plane11.
