Landing Craft Infantry pt 3

The LCI(L) initially featured bow gangways for rapid troop discharge; however, this layout exposed troops on deck during landing. In 1944, a redesign introduced a central ramp within the forecastle, minimizing exposure while disembarking. LCI(L) 402 served as prototype for this design, which became preferred in US Navy and saw post-WWII long service. Additionally, some vessels were converted into Flotilla Flagships with advanced electronic equipment like radar, sonar, and communication systems. A few others were built as flagships from the outset. My construction program has detailed 87 ships, showcasing design developments including weapons, major/minor equipment installations, and power plants.
