Lampshade with acrylic hangers
thingiverse
My girlfriend came up with an innovative idea to create a lampshade using inexpensive acrylic hangers. The challenge was figuring out how to hold them together around the light bulb. So, I designed a support that could hold 40 holders. In the end, we only used 20 hangers due to weight concerns, but the result turned out well. To bring this project to life, you'll need to print the central part and four side parts. You'll also require acrylic hangers with a diameter of around 8 mm. Here's a link to the same type we used: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Box-Beyond-32831-Acrylic-Purple/dp/B00UJ9BLHS/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1464517914&sr=1-1&keywords=acrylic+hangers+box+and+beyond Additionally, you'll need the following: * 16 M2.5x15 screws * A 40 mm diameter light bulb socket This is my first version of this design. Once I have more time, I plan to improve it further. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa I3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 20 Notes: It's essential to use natural PLA and a low-heat light bulb to preserve the PLA material.
