Lampshade SP-14

A "Grasshopper" script with three formulas crafted this purely mathematically formed surface. From a multitude of variations, I selected SP-14 and developed a 3D printable lampshade from it. The diameter measures 20 centimeters, while the height is 25 centimeters. This size accommodates a standard LED bulb with 10.5 watts. Handling is effortless - first, push the shade over the socket with the bulb positioned far up, then place the clip over the socket. Next, lower the lamp shade and your new lamp is ready! You can print both parts using a large nozzle (0.8-1.2 millimeters) in vase mode without support structure. Ensure you anchor the shade with a wide edge (brim) on the printing plate to prevent it from coming loose. Enjoy 3D printing! Antonin T. Clark / March 18, 2020 SP stands for "Stereosphere" - a spherical segment without poles - and 14 represents the variant number. Here are the formulas for those skilled in mental arithmetic: X = (75 * (2 * u / (u ^ 2 + v ^ 2 + 1))) + (1.75 * ((cos((1.0 * (u ^ 3)) * 50)) * (1.75 * (sin((1.0 * (v ^ 3)) * 50)))))) Y = (75 * (2 * v / (u ^ 2 + v ^ 2 + 1))) + (1.75 * ((-sin((-1.0 * (u ^ 3)) * 50)) * (1.75 * (-cos((1.0 * (v ^ 3)) * 50)))))) Z = 122 + (120 * ((u ^ 2 + v ^ 2 - 1) / (u ^ 2 + v ^ 2 + 1)))
