Lampshade of darkness
thingiverse
This once again is a bad design. And that rather repulsive print quality is only surpassed by my inconsiderate choice of color. That being said, it's at least a functional lampshade (I'd like to emphasize the word "shade" here) that unintentionally looks a bit like some flower and it's a nice print to utilize a large-format printer. But unless you're looking for a thing that brings darkness into your life, I strongly recommend printing it in some transparent material. Also pay attention to not use a light bulb that heats up the socket too much since there's a chance of softening the mounting area. I printed it in Extrudr GreenTec Pro which is some modified PLA, with a thermal resistance similar to ABS and it seems to be good enough to withstand the heat from one of these old-school energy-saving lamps that take forever to eventually reach it's full brightness. I think PETG would be a sane choice too and someday I'll reprint it in some material of that kind. So this is why I tagged it as work in progress; but to be honest: I don't believe that I'll be making much progress on that. Except for the wiring maybe.
