This is a lampshade mount that converts a slip fitter to a threaded one. The base fits most lamps while the top is compatible with typical lampshade locking rings, including a provided locking ring design. Be cautious when working with electricity and potentially high heat - especially if you're still using incandescent bulbs. Exercise common sense to avoid accidents.
