Lamp Shade with Visible Gyroid Infill

Lamp Shade with Visible Gyroid Infill

Visible Gyroid infill is a great choice for a lamp shade, especially when direct light isn't shining in your eyes. Remix your own cap with a unique design, like a pear leaf pattern. If you're not sure how to slice, start by opening Slic3r (Prusa 1.4.1+). Print settings are where the magic happens. Set Perimeters to 0, Solid Layers to 0, and choose Gyroid as your Infill. In my experience, printing at 20% is a good starting point. Next, add the shade model by right-clicking on it and selecting Settings. Then, load the Gyroid part by clicking Load Part. Select the shade model, click the plus sign to add more details, and set Perimeters to 4. Add top solid layers and bottom layers, setting both to 5. Finally, add an Infill pattern and click OK to start slicing it!
