Lamp Shade

Lamp Shade

A broken lamp shade on my nightstand triggered this replacement project. It was designed from scratch on Onshape, where I utilized a hexagonal infill pattern, and then exported the design to Simplify3D for slicing. The print job was sent directly to my PrintrBot Simple Metal, which used white Hatchbox PLA filament to bring the design to life. Since the lamp uses a 7W GE LED bulb, heat buildup is hardly a concern. The print process took an impressive 10 hours to complete, but I'm thrilled with the final result. My wife was also impressed, giving it her seal of approval.
