Lamp Shade
thingiverse
My coworker recently purchased a lamp at Target, and unfortunately, three out of five shades broke in an unfortunate accident. However, thanks to advanced printing techniques, I was able to create a perfectly smooth beveled edge on the shade. I utilized the high-resolution feature in Prusa Slic3r, which allowed me to print the beveled opening with an incredibly fine resolution of 0.07mm, eliminating any stair-step effect. To achieve this level of precision, I employed the new variable layer heights feature in Prusa Slic3r, printing most of the shade in standard 0.2mm layers while reserving a finer resolution for the beveled edge. To design this project, I simply measured the part with an old wooden ruler and imported the dimensions into FreeCAD.
