Lamp-Poly2

Lamp-Poly2

This is an alternate take on Lamp-Poly1. The only alteration was to carve the corners of the pentagon so it had a more fluid shape. The print took about 17 hours and 15 minutes with a layer height of 0.200 mm. For this print I used dark blue PLA filament, and the two photos show the lamp in daylight with the light off and in a dark closet with the light on. I believe a lighter color filament is a better choice - see Lamp-Poly1 for an example. This table lamp is designed to work with a "puck" battery-operated LED light source. The lamp sits atop a standard 68mm/2.75" diameter LED puck light that is powered by three AAA batteries. I bought three of these lights at Lowes for $9.98, including the batteries. Here's a link to the puck light: http://www.lowes.com/pd_406110-43768-NS511-R6-306_1z0y4gqZ1z10d2u__?productId=4177463&pl=1
