Lamp Knob Replacement -- Adjustable Hole Size
thingiverse
The original design found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:294202 featured a hole that was much too small for my lamp's unique threads. To rectify this issue, I employed a drill bit to gradually increase the diameter of the hole, but unfortunately, the required size fell between my available drill bits, making it either too tight or too loose. To address this problem, I remixed the original design in OpenSCAD, allowing for adjustable hole sizes. To utilize this feature, open the .scad file within OpenSCAD and modify the "holeSize" value at the top to match your lamp's thread diameter (in millimeters). Next, press F6 to execute the changes, followed by exporting the design as an .stl file. Ensure that the original Lamp_Knob.stl is situated in the same directory as the scad file for seamless integration. Upon successful creation, I printed this component at 100% infill on a raft due to its compact size. For convenience, I have included two additional stl files with 2.5 and 2.65 mm hole diameters, with the latter being specifically designed for my lamp's threads.
