Lamp holder for bucket moth trap
thingiverse
I designed a simple clip/bracket for my daughter. We crafted a moth trap from a large bucket and plywood, with careful consideration given to the design of a stable base to hold the lamp securely in place. The funnel-shaped trap would effectively capture moths without causing them any harm. A crucial detail was incorporating a ring that would clip into the bulb holder, ensuring it remained firmly attached while still allowing for easy installation or removal as needed. The peg at the top also featured a design element where it clips onto the bucket handle with minimal force applied; however if loose an elastic band can be utilized to provide extra security. As an enthusiast of open-source software and DIY technology, I built this creation using OpenSCAD before printing it on my newly constructed Mendel Prusa i2. This project represents my first foray into designing and manufacturing something functional and meaningful, a testament to the possibilities presented by modern technologies. If you happen upon this information, be sure to exercise care as this design represents an amateur's work; still, it is offered in the hope that it may prove useful or serve as inspiration to others embarking on their own innovative projects.
