It's a statement ring, an innovative one-of-a-kind piece and because of this reason part of VDL's "Outliers" collection. The "Outliers" Collection includes all the jewelry pieces born out of profound moments of insight or as experiments, unique pieces not part of a specific collection from the very start. This statement geometric ring has been inspired by different vintage ceiling lamps I saw in various cafes and restaurants in Zurich and Melbourne. It's definitely a distinctive shape, creating a sort of sculpture when viewed from the side and a flowing motif from the top, maybe in the future it could host a stone. It gives an idea of solidity, geometries that seem to be placed upside down. They could also remind one of an old-time sweet pudding, creme caramel or gelatin dessert, also upside down.
