This innovative project began with a bold idea - combining quick, easy, and simple methods with existing objects. The goal was to create an easily producible and installable object using a 3D printer and the basic lamp socket from IKEA. The process of 3D printing is fascinating, working through lamination layer by layer. This project's lampshade design was inspired by this unique process. By applying the laminating gesture as a fundamental language, it introduces two patterns (laminating directions) and shapes - cylinder and cone - in one lampshade. A specific dimension has been calculated to fit perfectly on an IKEA basic lamp socket.
