The Lament configuration - art by [artist064](https://www.deviantart.com/artist064) "The original Lament Configuration was created by [Simon Sayce](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcX2sYlTq2U) for the original Hellraiser movie". I have attempted to remain faithful to the original design, however it is apparent that multiple on-screen props were used with differing configurations, even some faces mirrored. To this end I have settled on the widely used [HR1 configuration by Xane](https://hellraiser.fandom.com/wiki/Puzzle_Box). Bitmaps were converted to black and white using Threshold filter in GIMP then traced using InkScape, simplified using "Flatten Bezziers" extension before being exported as DXF for import into OpenSCAD. Horizontal expansion effect using minkowski() to fatten thin walls (there was some loss of detail in the top and bottom faces with thin walls and 0.4mm nozzle). The top face makes a good test for over-extrusion (move -76.2mm under build plate to print a test coaster to see if the little holes get filled in). All the fiddly bits on the top few layers seem to be quite susceptible to over-extrusion. I found best results from dialing back flow rate to the point of causing under-extrusion elsewhere (75%). There are a lot of retractions so settings like ‘Retraction extra prime amount’ will also add unwanted material. A trick to getting this right in Cura is to add a support blocker cube positioned over the top few layers and change it to ‘Modify settings for overlaps’. This allows the flow rate to be tweaked only for the detailed layers [as described here](https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013370140-How-to-adjust-print-settings-of-a-part-of-my-model-in-Ultimaker-Cura). Now compiles without crashing! Used for the most recent [It's just a puzzle box!](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5225680) - will probably go back and update the more popular versions of the working/functional/solvable puzzles.
