Laird's SCAD Chess Set (updated)

thingiverse

Revamp this chess set design for years, now possible due to affordable 3D printing. Uploading it online for others' enjoyment. Designed for kid-friendly learning with labeled piece names and illustrations of moves. Tall king indicates its importance, queen can move in eight directions, knight jumps to eight squares, bishop/rook move diagonally or horizontally/vertically, while short pawns move forward one square or capture diagonally. Created using OpenSCAD for precise expression. Print two sets with distinct colors/materials for easy differentiation. Uploaded OpenSCAD and STL files; interested in someone printing a set in exchange for payment. Design features 1-inch wide pieces, 4-inch tall king; some overhang on knight, but hopeful for extrusion printer success.
