LADYBUG JR. V-0.1

Did you ever wake up and thought “today looks like a good day to water the plants”. Exactly, that never happens. So all the buggers keep on dying.

I wanted to make an automatic flower pot for a while but never really had the time to design it. by coincidence i got this project as an assignment from my school (Haagse Hoge school, Delft). So I build this first prototype. It ain't much but its honest work.

The features of the pot are automatic lighting (there is a LDR that measures the light intensity, the value of the LDR determines the LED brightness).
The LED-arms can rotate to give the plant the optimal space (See the photographs). automatic water supply depending on the ground water level(work in progress : IT ISN'T WATER TIGHT YET). there is also an ultrasonic sensor in the water reservoir to determine the water level. this value changes the color of an RGB-LED from red (empty) to green (full). this RGB-LED is situated just underneath the LED-arms.

Non-printed parts

ball baring (D=22mm, d=8mm, b=7mm) 2x
LED-strip Growlight (8 LED's Long/~133mm)
RGB-LED (YJ503RBG-30B) From my arduino kit
LDR (HW5P-1) From my arduino kit
Soil-Sensor
UltraSonicSensor (HC-SR04)
arduino UNO/Micro

DISCLAIMER

this is a work in progress. this version is mostly made for aesthetic use. if you just want a nice flower pot with automatic lighting this design will work. the other functions will come in other Versions. Many things might change with the next version. future version's may not be compatible with this one.

almost all of the parts have a preferred print orientation except the LED-Arms. These must be printed with support.

The ball baring's are not necessary so u could just print two similar sized parts. just ad some lube for optimal use.
