Lady Buggy, Wifi Edition
youmagine
"Lady Buggy" is a custom-designed buggy inspired by the ladybug's iconic style, tailored for our little ones aged 2 years and up. As shown in the video, Lady Buggy is a Wi-Fi enabled remote control vehicle that features both slow movement and ease of control. To operate Lady Buggy, simply use a touch-based iOS device locked in portrait mode - I've only tested it with iOS devices, but see below for more information on software compatibility. Just drag the red button around the display to steer forward, reverse, or turn; even our 2-year-old grandson can do it with some adult supervision. I've included the source code as an Arduino sketch for the Adafruit Feather Huzzah ESP8266, which you can modify to work with different devices if needed. To assemble Lady Buggy, you'll need soldering skills and equipment, wire, and all the parts listed in the first step, plus an Arduino IDE with the required libraries installed. If you have any questions or notice I've left out a file or two, don't hesitate to ask - I make mistakes, after all! I designed Lady Buggy using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced it with Cura 3.0.4, and printed it in PLA on an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
