Hello everyone, I'm Joshua Starnes, a student at Western Governors University pursuing Application Development. My passion lies in robotics and automated systems. This project is centered around creating a Ladybug-themed lawn mower that brings automated lawn care and landscape maintenance technology to the masses. I firmly believe that robots are more relatable when given personality and designed to be friendly to their human users. Currently, this design can be printed as a single piece, but be aware that it's a large multi-part print. My goal is to eventually offer this as a residential product, with several revisions on the horizon, which I'll share once they're available. The robot features an articulately designed head with moving eyes, while six wheels powered by 160 rpm worm gear motors propel it across your lawn. Three RS550 motors drive edge trimmers along the front of the mower, and a RS795 motor powers the main 10-12 inch blades. The system runs on four 12-volt 9-amp-hour batteries, providing 432 watt-hours of power. With minimal modifications, this design can easily be transformed into a Lawn Mower Bee or Lawn Mower Beetle. Initially, I'll share larger files, but as the design is refined and reliable, I plan to split it into smaller parts for printing on average printers. The Ender 3 Pro from Creality is my printer of choice.
