Lady Baltimore proudly stands atop the Battle Monument in downtown, a testament to her enduring presence. Italian sculptor Antonio Capellano brought Lady Baltimore to life in 1815, a year that also saw the monument adopted as Baltimore's official emblem. This iconic symbol helped establish the city's reputation as "The Monumental City." Fun fact: you can spot Lady Baltimore on garbage bins scattered throughout the city.
