Ladle Arc Furnace - Secondary steelmaking - EN
sketchfab
The ladle furnace serves to heat the steel to precise temperatures, while argon bubbling ensures uniform composition by spreading evenly throughout the molten steel. Graphite electrodes are carefully lowered into the slag layer above the molten steel surface, gradually heating it at a controlled rate of up to 3°C per minute. As an added function, the ladle furnace acts as a temporary storage unit between the Basic Oxygen Furnace and the continuous casting machine, allowing for seamless processing and refining of the steel.
