Lacto Fermentation Lid
thingiverse
This Lacto Fermentation Lid is inspired by AlexEnglish's work for canning jars. The user started fermenting due to their daughters' GI issues and subsequent prescription probiotic trials. They tried various popular jars like Pickl-it, Fido, and regular mason jars with lids requiring CO2 bleeding. This project presents a working and tested lid design for wide mouth Ball canning jars, using the OpenSCAD files from AlexEnglish with modifications. The screw library from syvwlch is recommended for those modifying the files. Assembling the lid involves purchasing mason jar lid gaskets, printing the lid from the STL file (using .25 layers and 70% fill), and filling the reservoir on top with water during fermentation. Taste testing and refrigeration can be done as desired to control fermentation. Overall, this lid promotes healthy and happy living.
