LackRack mounts
thingiverse
These are custom friction mounts for securing a server to an Ikea Lack Table. This is my second iteration of this item, designed specifically for myself. The initial ones performed flawlessly without dropping my server for 2+ years until I relocated and they broke down; so, I created new ones with improved aesthetics. A key feature is the hole that allows a 6mm aluminum rod to connect the front and back mount, making it effortless to slide the server in and out. Although not necessary for support, this feature greatly simplifies the process. The brackets are secured using M4x20 nuts and bolts; however, I believe M3x20 will also function effectively. My server is a dual Xeon liquid-cooled system with 5 hard drives, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX670 graphics card, and an 800W power supply. Based on this configuration, I estimate its weight to be at least 35 pounds. Update: On August 9th, 2017, I uploaded V6 files to enhance the design of these custom friction mounts.
