Not a novel concept by any means. I recently came across several DIY projects where individuals repurpose cheap IKEA Lack side tables as storage units for their 3D printers. While many enthusiasts have designed elaborate enclosures, my goal was more modest: to create connecting brackets that would prevent the entire setup from collapsing when not in use. During my online search, I found a few designs for these specific brackets, but I wanted something that would provide extra stability and durability. To achieve this, I took precise measurements and crafted my own design with a personal touch. Perhaps I went overboard slightly, but I'm pleased with the end result, which showcases an understated yet attractive aesthetic. To ensure my brackets' sturdiness, I opted for 1-inch #10 pan head construction screws, which cost just $2 at Home Depot. Before driving them in, I drilled 1/8-inch pilot holes to avoid any damage or splitting of the material. The countersunk screw holes will allow the brackets to sit relatively flush. I printed my brackets using PLA with a moderate infill percentage of 20%. While a 10% infill might have been sufficient for some applications, I found it to be somewhat fragile in this context.
