Lack Glass Hinge Brackets
thingiverse
I aimed to craft a pair of upper Lack table enclosure brackets that would allow cut glass use without drilling it.The brackets are designed for screwing on with #6 wood screws and gluing to plain sheets of glass. The glass can then swing upward allowing removal in this position.\nThe hinges are crafted so as to enable the glass sliding out of the brackets for complete removal. The idea is if you just need to reach inside, raise the sides up and if you're doing more extensive work, raise the glass to 90 degrees and draw it forward to remove it entirely.\nThree formats of glass mount are available: 2 mil and 3 mil (the 3 mil file is named "3.2mm") and one-sided epoxy on for minimal clearance.\nThe prints are sliced in Cura PLA Medium, with 1.2mm top/bottom/wall thickness, 10% fill on the glass piece, 30% fill on the cabinet piece, and no supports.\nNote: Lightly sand or file off any printing anomalies/deformations if they occur, especially at edges where the parts interconnect. When deformations are removed, these pieces operate together smoothly and in close tolerance. I held tight on tolerances since I wanted to limit glass rattling while the printer was operating, so this extra step may be necessary depending on your print quality.
