Lack Ender 3,Cr-10, i3 Prusa vertical brace

After building my Lack enclosure I notice some small shaking from the top of the printer. This was showing up in taller thin parts and details in my prints. I tried foam on the bottom and the compression/dampening feet but nothing stopped the shake on the top. I searched but found nothing like this so here it is. Print Settings Printer Brand: Creality Printer: Ender 3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .28 Infill: 15 Filament: eSun Pro PLA or PETG but a semi-flex material would be best Black Notes: Originally printed in PETG. If you decide to use a pla or pro ple (pla+) please increase the size by 1.24% to accommodate for the difference in shrink rates. Post-Printing ============= PETG can have some stringing which most users face. please remove it with an exact-o knife or heat gun/lighter so that the material does not cause it to be to tight or not fit at all. If you wish to pull the top off of your enclosure for any reason just member that the brace is screwed to it. Please lift straight up and re position your printer before putting it back down. You can use a 3x12mm wood screw or longer depending on your setup. I used these and its rock solid. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Grabber-6-1-in-Phillips-Bugle-Head-Wood-Screw-1-lb-Box-24335/205908359 Fusion 360 does have a free trial which never ends for (hobbyists) You can find that here. https://www.autodesk.com/campaigns/fusion-360-for-hobbyists Please provide any feedback in the comments and I will answer any questions I can. Customization: I have supplied the stl, step, and f3d files so that if you have a lack enclosure or other type your vertical measurements will not be the same as mine. Measure from the top of the 20x20 horizontal extrusion to the ceiling of the enclosure. In fusion 360 open the part and edit the vertical stem to equal the height you measured Right click that section and select 'edit feature' Enter the distance you measured How I Designed This =================== Designed using Fusion 360 and simply measured the available space in my enclosure and areas above the printer to id the best locations for the brace placement. The fillets are not required but less material = faster print and there is no reduction in strength. Category: 3D Printer Parts
