Lack Enclosure Magnetic Door Knobs With Captive Disc Magnets (8x3mm)
thingiverse
This is a custom design for magnetic door knobs used with Prusa IKEA Lack enclosures on Prusa i3 printers. I didn't have the rectangular magnets called for in the original plan, but I had an abundance of 8mm diameter by 3mm thick neodymium disc magnets. In this design, the magnets are fully enclosed within the printed pieces. This keeps the magnets from falling out and prevents them from breaking when they collide with each other. Steps: 1) Use a sharpie to mark the polarity of the four disc magnets. 2) Start printing. The parts should be printed as shown in the picture taken from the slicing software. 3) Pause the print at 11.2mm high. 4) Insert a small amount of super glue into each pocket before adding a magnet, making sure each magnet is facing the correct direction. 5) Wait for the super glue to harden. 6) Resume printing.
