Update 24.02.2019
V2 of the Life Puck can now be printed in two colors (brown and gold) simultaneously, if the printer supports it. Alternatively, a glass can be added, which can be printed in translucent green. I recommend transparent green PLA from Clas Ohlson, as it produces a fine color.
Life Puck and Medalion for Labyrinth Costume
I made these for a Labyrinth costume, as there was nothing available beforehand. These are very cheap to make, provided you have access to a 3D printer. The medalion looks better in real life than on the picture, with quite fine details.
Medalion
This medalion is designed for a 16mm marble, which is pressed into place from behind. It sits well that way. At the top, there is a hole for a chain, so it can be hung around the neck. This prints without supports, both PLA and PETG have worked well for me. It is made of bronze, with raised details in gold. And then a green marble, and a chain in brass. The marbles I bought had slightly varying diameters, so some may sit loosely (resolved with glue), and some do not fit (resolved by cutting a little with a knife around the opening from behind). Both parts produce good results. The chain can be cut to the desired length, opened up with a knife, for example, and closed again with a small pliers or with one's teeth :) I would recommend using a chain as it is cheap, looks best, and reduces the risk of choking compared to, for example, a cord, which tends to fray quite easily.
Life Puck
This is a lid that is a direct replacement for the lid on small lamps with 3 LEDs from China. Remove the original lid, and print this in brown with gold details. You can either replace the LED with green ones (requires soldering) or buy some green plastic film to place behind the glass. Be careful not to make the opening in the lid too narrow after painting, as this can cause the glass to hang slightly loose and make it difficult to turn on/off. The battery compartment under is quite poor, but can be fixed by drilling a 2mm hole through the compartment and into the lamp body itself, and then screwing a 3mm screw through that to secure it in place so that it does not come loose during use.
