Label Holder - Parametric
thingiverse
I created this to slide over the edge of a file holder. I originally designed it using SketchUp (v1), but I've recently switched to Fusion 360, which is incredibly powerful. The new design is completely parametric. I've included the Fusion 360 file as well, so you can easily modify your label dimensions if needed. I also added a fillet to the recess for the label, ensuring that the edge will print smoothly on the overhang. My brother QL-570 label maker came with a roll of Small Address labels (2.4" x 1.1"), and I measured a single label as 62mm x 29mm. In v2, I sized the recess in the label holder to fit those labels plus a 1mm margin and a 1 mm fillet. In v2, I also adjusted for the thickness of the plywood in my unit, which is 5.2mm. To be safe, I added an extra 0.1 mm as a buffer. I noticed that the labels from my label printer don't like the shiny layered surface of the PLA. To solve this problem, I applied a thin layer of glue stick glue before adding the first label. Which one to print? The most likely file you'll want is Label_Holder_Parametric_v2.stl. If you'd like to edit the design, you can use Label_Holder_Parametric_v2.f2d instead. Alternatively, if you prefer the original version, you can print Label_Holder_v1.stl. Print Settings: Rafts: It doesn't matter. Supports: None are needed.
