The concept of my portrait stems from Carl Jung's idea of the "Shadow archetype", the darker and more stigmatized side of our personality; our frustrations, egos, resentments, fears, and insecurities that our mind rejects and buries deep within ourselves. This aspect I wanted to represent through the masks (what we are and show others) but with cracks and tears, attempting to emphasize this dark side because in this case, my character does not accept it and feels guilt, does not want it to be a part of her and continues to repress it. She cannot achieve personal well-being because she still has not faced her own shadow. At first glance we appear to be what we want others to see us as, however, inside we hide that personality where our common negative parts are found. This photograph has an effect of 'painting' done in Photoshop with oil brushes.
