Denis Foyatier, born on 21 September 1793 in Bussières, Loire, and passing away on 19 November 1863 in Paris, was a renowned French sculptor known for his neoclassical style. After briefly working as a farmer, he continued to create sculptures to save up for admission into the prestigious School of Drawing in Lyon. The stunning sculpture showcased here is La Sieste, intricately carved from marble and proudly displayed at the world-renowned Musée du Louvre.
