La Pedrera

grabcad

The "La Pedrera" desk lamp is inspired by Antoni Gaudí's famous Catalan architecture masterpiece, Casa Milà. Composed of six pieces, including a base, four side structure parts, and a cover, it pays homage to the building's unique design. Each face of the side structure recalls "La Pedrera" in various ways, such as its wavy profile and intricate ironwork gates by Jujol. The cover encloses the lamp for safety while evoking the chimneys at the top of Casa Milà. Each piece is designed to fit within the working volume of a MakerBot 3D printer, with the largest measuring approximately 218 mm x 152 mm x 10 mm. Printing each piece individually offers advantages like minimized printing time and support removal, better aesthetic quality, and reduced costs. After fabrication, the pieces can be assembled using rectangular reference pins and snap fits. To complete the lamp, simply print it out in black to resemble the wrought iron gates, add a lamp holder, and choose your preferred light color. Detailed instructions are provided in the enclosed PDF.
