cults3d
This sculpture by Antoine Coysevox (Lyon, born 1640 - Paris, deceased 1720) is one of four marble sculptures commissioned for "Riviere" in Parc de Marly, a masterpiece that stood atop a waterfall alongside statue "La Seine". The plaster model was installed in 1699 and the actual sculpture carved from marble in 1706. By 1796, this group had been removed from Parc de Marly and redeployed to decorate a fountain in Brest by 1801. Restoration of this piece was carried out by Pari Mutuel Urbain.
