La Marne at The Louvre, Paris
myminifactory
This sculpture by Antoine Coysevox (Lyon, 1640 - Paris, 1720) tops a waterfall as the statue 'La Seine' stands nearby in the Parc de Marly. The Riviere (River) commissioned four marble sculptures for this location. A plaster model was installed in 1699 and the marble executed in 1706. In 1796, the group was removed from the Parc de Marly and used to decorate a fountain in Brest in 1801. The Pari Mutuel Urbain restored this piece. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no charge.
