The medieval fountain taps directly into the underlying sources, life-giving springs dating back to prehistoric times, perfect for providing uncontaminated water supplies. In Roman times, an impressive aqueduct was also built, of which only some arches remain today. The crest and construction date are two key features of the medieval fountain: on the first, two coats of arms are reproduced, the scythe belonging to the D'Azzia family at a diagonal and the typical Brancaccio armor, giving rise to a conduit where water flowed just a few years ago.
