The L298 is a monolithic dual full-bridge driver housed in 15-lead Multiwatt or PowerSO20 packages, capable of driving high voltage and current inductive loads like relays, solenoids, DC, and stepping motors. It accepts standard TTL logic levels and offers two enable inputs to independently control the device's functionality. Emitters from each bridge's lower transistors are connected together, with an external terminal available for connecting an optional sensing resistor. Additionally, a separate supply input enables logic operation at lower voltages.
