This is a custom bracket designed specifically for mounting a L298N Motor Controller Board within your project housing. The L298N motor controller is an incredibly affordable option, priced extremely competitively on eBay, and capable of controlling two motors with remarkable flexibility. This versatile component works seamlessly with popular microcontrollers like the Raspberry Pi and Arduino, and even allows you to use pulse-width modulation for a wide range of applications. This custom bracket was designed from scratch in SketchUp, but its inspiration stems from two exceptional models created by jwags55 - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:511970 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:513629. I've always been impressed with the designs crafted by jwags55, and I strived to replicate his incredible design with my own creation. The L298N board measures approximately 43mm square. Initially, I modeled the clip at 43mm wide where it interfaces with the board, but found this dimension too loose, so I reduced the width to approximately 42mm for a secure fit. For those who prefer working with ABS plastic due to its superior flexibility over PLA's rigidity, this custom bracket is perfect. If you opt for printing in PLA instead, be prepared to widen the clip by roughly 1mm as it was initially designed to accommodate a tight fit with the L298N board for optimal motor controller stability even under heavy vibration or jerking conditions. Always print the design on its flipped side and don't forget to add a brim (Repetier) or raft (Simplify3D) while printing as the narrow profile might lead to warping on your 3D printer bed.
