The L298, a monolithic circuit in 15-lead Multiwatt or PowerSO20 packages, features as a high voltage, high current dual full-bridge driver. Compatible with standard TTL logic levels, it efficiently drives inductive loads like relays, solenoids, DC and stepping motors. Two enable inputs offer independent control over the device functionality. The lower transistor emitters of each bridge are interconnected, allowing for an external sensing resistor connection. Additionally, a supplementary supply input maintains logic operation at reduced voltage levels.
