L-39 Nose Gear Brace
thingiverse
This component plays a vital role in supporting the nose wheel retraction system when it's extended. To secure it in place, I used the rubber adhesive provided with the plane kit. It's essential that the component is positioned about 1mm below the top of the retract bay to allow for the nose gear door's proper closure. For optimal results, installation should occur during the initial assembly of the plane. However, if you're retrofitting an existing model with noticeable fore and aft play, ensure that the component is flush against the back wall of the retract bay. Installing a worn-out retract can alter the caster angle, compromising ground handling stability. Nevertheless, even a well-worn retract will still exhibit some play when moving forward.
