Kyosho Ultima ST GP RS-148 super wide gearbox idler gear for ARRMA input gear
thingiverse
Okay, so this is a Kyosho Ultima ST GP (Racing Sports version) gearbox idler gear FOR USE WITH ARRMA INPUT GEAR ONLY. Part nr. RS-148. YOU CAN'T USE THIS GEAR WITH STOCK GENUINE KYOSHO INPUT GEAR OR MY INPUT GEAR! I released this gear just for those who want to maximize the durability of gearbox gears with ARRMA steel input gear. This gear's teeths are roughly 30% wider than in the stock Kyosho gear. If you want to use stock input gear style, check my other things. You can find widened, but stock Kyosho style gears there. This uses stock sized bearings. Keep in mind that your first layer is on the correct level. If the first layer does an "elephant foot", you might need to slightly sand the gears teeth from the print bed size to have a smooth turning gear. I didn't have any problems with my Prusa i3MK3S. I also "drove in" my gearbox, with spinning the input shaft with cordless drill for a few minutes, then opening up the gearbox, cleaning it and applied new grease to it. As for the input gear that is compatible with this particular idler gear: If you want the best gearbox input gear you can buy, the part nr. AR310762 from ARRMA is the gear you want. Its steel gear with full width teeths, goes straight to the 5mm axle Kyosho uses. You only need to slightly shim its level to the input axles gear locking pin level. You can check my rc10talk build thread to see what I mean with this shimming. With ARRMA input gear, you can maximize the benefit of this super wide idler gear and still use stock differential covers/gears if you want. As always, use good quality grease in gearbox and make sure your slipper is adjusted properly. Enjoy and drop a comment how did it work for you, or if you want any changes to be made! Also check my other parts that I have made to Ultima ST Racing Sports/Type-R/Evolution chassis.
