Kyosho Triumph Front Arm
thingiverse
Front arm for the Kyosho Triumph (TM-5).This is a slightly modified version of the original arm. It is pretty close but has been modified to make it easier to print. I have also added a little more material was added around the shock mount area and inner sections, along with slight changes to the main geometry.Ream the hinge pin areas with a 3 mm drill bit. This may take several passes. Tap the shock mounting area with a M3 tap. Light filing in the inner hinge area may be required to get the best fit.UPDATE 02/10/24: V2 version of the arm has been uploaded which mimics the overall thickness better across the span of the part and has further refinements to the shock mounting area, webbing, and inner bulkhead mounting clearance. The original arm has a taper to the thickness across the span of the arm. It is very, very slight - changing from a thickness of ~8 mm at the inner hinge/bulkhead mount to 7 mm at the caster blocks. This difference in thickness could theoretically reduce the overall travel available as the shock tower/arm contact is the limiting factor (beyond the shock). This means that the lower surface is actually angled from the mid-plane of the arm (like a wedge). I have replicated that on this arm - using the original profile, but long term, I will probably remodel around the caster block area to improve the blending/shape. "V3" would be the final version - but very little will be different to this geometry. I may consider bumping the hinge pin hole larger - but I am concerned with play (the current design may require a couple of passes with the drill to correctly ream it). I will leave V1 for now, but will eventually remove it.
