Kyosho Mad Force suspension upgrade
thingiverse
Since Kyosho launched the first Mad Force model up to the lastest model, the suspension was the same: A rigid arm that needs to twist to compensate the suspension variations... Well, it works good, but can be better. The subsequent launches of Kyosho are the FO-XX and the Mad Crusher, that shares the same chassis from the old Mad Force, but not the same suspension, it was updated! Those 2 models uses a 4 link suspension + a panhard. Good! I saw in the videos that the suspension works much more smooth and stable, so I decided to make the same with my old Mad Force. Using the ideias that Kyosho used, and improving another ideias, thast the result: A 4 link suspension, with triangulated links (doesn't need a panhard). You don't need to cut or broke anything in you model to make it, just desassembly some parts and make a new ones. The steering links was used to be at the arms that will be removed, so I put the solution that Kyosho uses in FO-XX and Mad Crusher: A suport that holds a type of servo link atached directly to the differential. I will put the links sizes after assembly my model (I promise :D). I will put some photos too. >*Update 1: I addeded 2 more types of suspension adapters. The material was reduced and I created a rear and front version, because the rear needs a link to support the rear steerinng. >*Update 2: I printed and assembled it, and infortunally discovered that the model is too wide, and the screws that lock the differential hosing doesn't fit. But i redesigned it, and I will put only the parts that are right. One more thing: I reduced the thickness of the part, because the suspension course increases that way! =D
