Kyosho Fazer Lowered Suspension Arms (7.5mm drop)
thingiverse
Hi guys, These are lowered suspension arms for the Kyosho Fazer MK2 platform. Use these if you want better handling when running 90mm or larger 4WD buggy tires of some sort. Some run vids: Stock, big tires, gravelly mayhem - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7sIl52AzcU Stock, big tires, high speed fails - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dvps0_yi-nk Stock, big tires, dirt running - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST9SEHwGFSc I'll be posting some footage of the car running suspension mods soonish. Trust me, it handles a lot better if you want to run high top speed. Use the stock rear arm with the stock knuckle. If you run my printed knuckle, use the other arm to captivate the pin. You'll need an M3 screw in the loose end. These add some camber (approx 3 degrees) and outward toe in the front which makes the car way more stable in a straight line when running a hotter than stock motor or 3S (don't go 3S if you value your stock ESC and motor). With the stock setup the car was all but impossible to drive over about 30mph. Now it runs beautifully at 42 mph on cheap 95mm truck tires. The overall handling is not bad but it's a little loose on any surface except grass. You have to respect the speed or you'll have some big rolls. The stock setup with big tires isn't bad if you're going slow. These help a lot if you're going faster. Oddly, I think the car is a hair looser with these arms on very loose dirt type surfaces, but it may just be that it's much easier to get it going too fast. Even if it is looser, it doesn't roll nearly as easily, so I'll take the trade off. I printed these with TPU (Solutech flexible filament) and they are very tough. That's the reason for the wedge shape. With TPU the design has to eliminate as much flex as possible and that's hard to do without the bulk. I think these arms are stiff enough, but judge for yourself. If the arms flex too much you risk a hard lateral impact compressing the suspension and mashing the dog bone into the drive cups, potentially damaging the diff. I'm willing to take the risk, you'll have to decide for yourself. Use at your own risk. Wrench to drive or drive to wrench?
