I created a low-poly digital character for my university assignment, focusing first on drawing out the character's form and then refining several design iterations of clothing, hair, ear types, and more. Next, I box modeled it in 3DS Max and referenced various models from Sketchfab to inform my approach to creating the hair, tail, eyes, ears, and leg to torso topology. For the hair, I employed a plane method before crafting a full 3D mesh around the skull. The stylized inset eyes feature irises that are planes inside the socket. To achieve a stylized look, I used baked AO, curvature, and world space normal maps for texturing, then hand-painted further details onto areas such as her top, shorts, and handbag. However, there's room for improvement in terms of arm and shoulder topology, as well as posing the character to facilitate future rigging efforts.
