Kylo Ren's first appearance came on November 28, 2014, when he was unveiled in the initial teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.[4] Entertainment Weekly then revealed his name through an exclusive trading card.[2] Kylo Ren also made a splash in the second teaser trailer,[5] and will be featured prominently on all The Force Awakens merchandise.[6] By May 4, 2015, it was confirmed by Vanity Fair that Adam Driver portrays Kylo Ren, thanks to video footage released at the time.
