Kwikset Smartcode 910 ZWave Door Lock Gear

I've got several of these Kwikset smart door locks around my house for a number of years. They generally work pretty well but the summer months can play havoc with them. During summer the 70%+ humidity swells doors, frames etc and can cause the bolt to bind. Adjusting the strike plates only reverses the problem when the humidity goes down in the cooler months. Well the lock doesn't know the difference when it's super humid and it's binding up so it just tries to ram the deadbolt anyway. This puts stress on the already brittle gear wheel inside eventually chewing off about a third of the teeth and making it hard to lock the door if not impossible. Over the years I've lost two of these gears and at the time was resigned to buy a whole new lock to replace it since Kwikset doesn't sell just the gear. Well a couple weeks ago I thought the gear was going out again so I took to drawing up a replacement and printing it. I made two versions original and solid. As it sounds the original is drawn up just like the factory one and the solid one eliminates the spring cam portion in the center and makes for beefier teeth. I think the cam portion in the center is used for orienting whether the lock is mounted left hand or right hand. I made this version for a right hand/side door with the deadbolt on the left. If yours is opposite you can just mirror the part to flip it. The other reason I made a solid version is the concerns I had over printing it. Both sides of the gear have raised portions so the teeth never rest on the bed. I was worried the tiny teeth detail would not print clean with supports or even a raft. I printed the solid gear using a 0.2 nozzle (first time ever using anything besides a 0.4 actually). After some tweaks it printed a nice copy and fit in the lock perfectly and moved smoothly. I ended up not using it though since I found my gear was actually in good shape this time and the binding feeling I was experiencing was from something else. Even though I didn't need it yet I wanted to put this out there in case someone else found it useful.
