Case for the Kweld Battery Welder and KCap power module, This case combines the 2 units into one for easier use and storage; an XT60 connector is used for feeding the supply voltage to the capacitors.[ Filament used in photos is Fusion Filaments HTPET+ Plutonic Purple ][Camera doesn't do the purple justice, it really is gorgeous] This case is designed to use some M5 and M3 heat set inserts, I think it would be fine to just screw into plastic as well but you will need to edit the files and change the holes accordingly [Fusion 360 files are posted] (Change receiving/insert holes to the following as needed M5 = 4.7mm / M3 = 2.7mm). Heat-Set Insert detailed list below:4x M5 inserts in bottom of the lower / Kcap housing, this will be used to attach the feet and Fan. (fan will need to be drilled out just a bit to pass an M5 screw.6x M3 inserts in the Upper Flanges for mounting to the lower. (M3x8 Screws Work here)4x M3 inserts in the Upper / Kweld board mounting points. (the supplied M3 screws with the kweld work here) [Note: the screen screw right next to the lower left mounting hole will not be able to have the nut installed, just tighten the screw to the brass stand-off and leave the nut off]2x M3 inserts for accessory mounts on side of Lower. (explained below) XT60 needs to be pushed all the way into the xt60 housing (look closely there is an orientation to the connector, holder and passthrough on lower i.e. different size fillets/rounding) and the hot-glued from behind to hold it in, M3x8 screws to attach XT60 holder to Lower housing. There are 2 holes, sized to accept M3 screws, on the side of the Lower for attaching “accessories," This side should be oriented to the output side of the Kweld/upper.I have included one accessory, a probe holder to avoid accidental contact between the probes.Accessory holes are 60mm (on center) apart if you need to design something that uses both. Fan orientation shouldn't matter but if you decide to push air from the bottom into the lower i would recommend a dust filter. If you prefer not to use a fan I have included a Fanless Base Plate, it is designed to use 4x Low Profile M5x8 or M5x6 screws (I source mine from Open Builds) [ https://openbuildspartstore.com/low-profile-screws-m5-10-pack/ ] Cover Screws down with M3x8 Screws Port in front (tall and skinny) is a work in progress, the idea is to use clear PETG or PMMA fiber Optic filament as a light pipe so I can easily see the KCap Status LED's, I am working on making the part that holds the light pipes in place properly, for now it just increases airflow. As usual I have uploaded the Fusion 360 files for easy editing.Apologies, I usually avoid having to use supports but it was impossible this time, the upper, cover, and feet need supports, the lower, fanless base, and probe holder will print fine without them. Kweld & KCap = ( https://www.keenlab.de/ )
