stl, obj, max format.3d model of guanyin. For centuries, Kuan Yin has embodied the highest aspiration of Mahayana Buddhism in her role as bodhisattva (Chinese 'pu-sa'), literally a being of Bodhi, or enlightenment, destined to become a Buddha but has postponed Nirvana's bliss with a vow to save all God's children. Quan Yin carries the Goddess and Divine Mother aspect of Buddhism, much like the Virgin Mary in Christianity, Isis in Egyptian mysteries, Shakti in Hinduism, wife of Vishnu, Parvarti, wife of Shiva, Radha, wife of Krishna, and Sita, wife of Rama. Quan Yin's name translates from Sanskrit as Avalokitesvara, also known as Avalokita. Properly it is Kuanshih Yin, meaning She who harkens to the world's cries. In Korea, Japan, and China she is Quan Yin. A celestial bodhisattva and an ascended master, one of her tasks in celestial spheres is sitting on the board of Karma's Lord. Buddhist mythology tells of Avalokitesvara being born from a ray of light springing from Amitabha Buddha's right eye. He immediately chanted, 'Om Mane Padme Hum', a mantra by which he can be invoked in Buddhist tradition. Avalokitesvara is known as most Tibetans' earthly representation of the Buddha and chief guardian of dharma until Maitreya Buddha's advent. Avalokitesvara and Quan Yin are symbols of compassion. She is equivalent to Green Tara in Tibetan Buddhism, often seen in male form as Avalokitesvara. Some believe the current Dali Lama is an incarnation of Avalokitesvara, with the female form of Avalokitesvara, Quan Yin, originating in China or Japan's twelfth or thirteenth century. The Saddharma Pundarika Sutra affirms that Avalokitesvara had 357 incarnations.
