The KV-2 tank was designed in January 1940, based on the KV-1 model, with 334 units produced between 1940 and 1941. These tanks saw action in 1941 but lost most of their vehicles that same year. The KV-2 is a unique tank due to its heavy firepower coupled with a large, poorly armored, and slow body. Its 152mm howitzer can inflict significant damage or disable modules on heavily armored tanks using powerful high-explosive rounds. However, the KV-2 is vulnerable to most guns it may encounter and possesses its own weaknesses to maintain balance.
