Kurzweil K2600 Main Board Support
thingiverse
This is a custom main board support for the Kurzweil K2600 synthesizer. It reinforces the primary electronics board in the bottom metal frame. The original supports failed due to age and/or mishandling, as they were mechanically overloaded from being under-designed. They lacked proper support, so I wouldn't have been able to sleep knowing it was straining like that. The broken parts removed from the keyboard approximately resemble the RICHCO part EHCBS-5-01, but their dimensions don't match exactly. The RICHCO part would likely work if all of them were replaced to ensure a perfect fit. I had the keyboard disassembled and didn't want to wait for replacements to arrive. I didn't want to handle it any more than necessary - it's a massive 70+lb instrument. The 3D model is made to the dimensions of the "Kurzweil" part, not the RICHCO part, and was slightly modified for better printability. The end of the pin may require a dedicated support to bond it to the bed and prevent lifting issues. This model has most of the shape of the original, but might fail in a similar way if used heavily. I'm not planning to move my keyboard much, so I expect the part to last. If it fails again or you plan to transport your gear frequently, some cross-sections should be enlarged to make it stronger. Note: I printed these parts without waiting for the Nylon to dry completely - they're merely passable as is.
